Melos Study

Melos Groups serve as the foundation for church membership at The Crossing Community Church.

“Melos” is the Greek word for “member” in the Bible. (1 Cor. 12:20)

The main purposes of the group are:

  • To explain covenant membership to prospective members of the church.
  • To build bonds of unity from the outset of church membership.
  • To train and equip members to live a lifestyle of biblical life-on-life discipleship.
  • To study, understand, and affirm the stated beliefs of The Crossing Community Church.

Melos groups will be made up of at least one member meeting with at least one prospective member of the church. Each group should be composed of individuals of the same gender. The group is to meet for a minimum duration of three months. The existing member(s) of the church will facilitate the study of 13 study modules consisting of both doctrinal and practical topics. The doctrinal topics will outline the basic statement of beliefs for the church and the practical ones will address the church’s stance on how the believer is called to live in Scripture. The groups will be asked to meet at least 3 times a month and develop a relationship over that time.
